I think I'm addicted to Blender. This is actually fun. Too bad Blender doesn't have more CAD capabilities, but sketching out simple designs is really cool.
Here's a big update to my design. It's the full assembly with the Z axis and frame. The frame is a placeholder for whatever I can manage to cobble together. I'm mostly using these drawings to get an idea of the functionally limiting areas. So far, it looks like the Y-table travel is where I need to start, and everything else can be derived from that measurement.
Here are some pictures. I'm playing with Blender's orthographic rendering. I need to write a script that renders every camera angle without having to switch between each camera manually.
